Activity: Area based activity

  • Reason/Objective:  yoga offers a holistic approach to better-acknowledging mind, body, and soul. One needs to understand not to overwork their mind and body, and instead practice yoga to have a healthy lifestyle.
  • Expected Outcome: relaxation of mind by meditation and energizing body with light stretching and exercises. And ‘to include such exercises in daily routine.

The NSS organized the Yoga Week and was a five-day event mentored by Ms. Vijayanka Shah, a Psychologist at Therapeutic Yoga Consultant and Educationist at VIDEH Wellness Centre for Development Education Health.

Day 1: The event commenced with inducive yoga for the students, which boosted their energy and encouraged coordination of their well-being with their minds.

Day 2: The NSS volunteers visited the Charity of Missionary. They conducted an interactive yoga session for the community.

Day 3:  The yoga week was dedicated to the faculty of St Pauls institute. The yoga helped them catch a breath and strengthen their mind and body before they started their productive day.

Day 4: The students were introduced to a more meditative and relaxing routine of yoga that stretched all their muscles.

Day 5: We concluded the week-long Yoga celebration by visiting the St Anthony’s home for the aged along with the NSS volunteers. They spent quality time with them to help stretch their muscles and educate them on the benefits of yoga, and at last, they shared a few hearty laughs.

  • The outreach programs by the NSS volunteers to Missionary and Old age homes sparked joy in everybody’s day.
