Services and Facilities

Web-OPAC Facility
Library provides Web-OPAC services which allow readers to access the library catalogue online from anywhere at any time. The link to the Web OPAC is made available on the college website & also on the library website.

User Orientation
The library organizes Library Orientation for first-year students to familiarize themselves with the library collection, services, and also the rules and regulations of the library.

Reading Facility
Reading Facility available with ample sitting capacity. Reading room facility available strictly against the Identity card.

Home Lending Facility
Home lending facility available for one week. Students can borrow one book at a time. Students can reissue books online.

Current Awareness Service
SPICEFW Library provide Current Awareness Service (CAS) by displaying the New Arrivals.

Selective Dissemination of Information
Library provide Selective Dissemination of Information (SDI) to the faculty by mailing the journal articles of their interest on regular basis.

Book Bank Facility
Book Bank facility is available for students by paying the ratio of 40:60. Students must return the books after each semester exam.

Open Access Facility
The library allows students to select the book of their interest area to read. It is available for UG and PG students.

Library Catalogue (Web-OPAC)
Library provides Web-OPAC services which allow readers to access the library catalogue online from anywhere at any time. The link to the Web OPAC is made available on the college website & also on the library website.
The Library collection is completey computerized with all bibliographic details of books. The library has its own OPAC (Online Public Access Catalog) where students can browse library collections online.

Dosti House (American Library)
The SPICEFW Library has become an institutional member of the American Library. You can avail the American Library facility by visiting in person. Borrow the membership card from the library to visit Dosti House (American Library).

Circulation Rules
Number of books allowed to various members:
1. Graduate Students : 1 book
2. Post Graduate Students : 1 book
3. Faculty : 4 books
4. Non teaching staff : 2 books
- The period of loan will be 07 days including the day of issue for students and Non Teaching staffs. For Teaching staffs books are issued for 14 days.
- Users can also renew the books again after the completion of charging period, subject to not being requested from some other user.
- Students who keep a book beyond the stamped due date will be charged a fine of 2 rupees per day for the first 7 days, and a fine of 5 rupees per day from the 8th day onwards.
- Reference Books are issued on for loan for overnight only.
- The person in whose name a book/periodical is issued will be held responsible for the care of the same. He/She will have to bear the compensation for any damage or loss.
- No book shall be issued which is not in good condition for safe handling. Condition of books will be decided by the Librarian.
Book Lost: If a book / books borrowed from the Library is / are lost, the matter must be reported to the Librarian immediately. The member has to replace the same or later edition of the same book lost/ damaged within a week’s time. If the replacement is not possible the following will be the procedure to recover the cost of the lost/damaged.
1. For a foreign book: The cost of the book converted as per the current conversion rate of the foreign currency plus three times of the cost.
2. For an Indian book: Printed price of the book plus three times of the price.
Code of Conduct
– Students should have their Identity Card whenever they visit the library.
– Maintain Silence in the library. It is mandatory for all to put their Mobile phones on Mute Mode.
– Eating and Drinking is strictly prohibited in the library.
– Students should issue books on his/her name.
– Students are requested to return all the books in time.
– No library material can be taken out of the library without permission. Unauthorized removal of anything belonging to the library will be treated as theft and dealt accordingly.
– Students, faculty, staff going on long leaves will have to return borrowed material to library before leaving.
– The Library reserves the right to call back any issued book/item at any time.
